Poster artist of the month
Dora M Batty (1891-1966)
Dora M Batty was a prolific artist who created over 50 posters for London Transport in the 1920s and 30s. Her work wasn’t limited to transport - she also designed illustrations, advertisements, textiles and even ceramics. Beyond her artistic talents, Batty was also an educator, having taught textiles for many years.
Take a look at her remarkable career which features Art Deco posters and captivating nature themes, including the historical figure and Underground series, in our full story.
