Did you know that Covent Garden is only a 15 minute bike ride from Hyde Park, 5 minute cycle from Waterloo, 15 minutes from Kings Cross, 20 minutes from Hoxton Square, 30 minutes from Victoria Park, 30 minutes from Clapham Common or 30 minutes from Fulham?

There are bike racks in Southampton Street, Bow Street, and on the corner of Russell Street & Wellington Street.

By Bus

The closest bus stops to the Museum are Strand or Aldwych (RV1, 9, 11, 13, 15, 23, 139).

TfL’s Hopper fare lets you make unlimited pay as you go bus and tram journeys within one hour of first touching in for just £1.50.

By Underground

The closest Underground stations to the Museum are Covent Garden (2 mins), Leicester Square (4 mins), Holborn (5 mins), Charing Cross (7 mins) and Embankment (8 mins).

Travel in Zones 2-6 for £1.50: Fare shown is for an adult off-peak pay as you go journey not going via Zone 1 on Tube, DLR and most London Overground services.

Travel into Zone 1 from £2.40: Fare shown is for an adult off-peak pay as you go journey from Zone 2 into Zone 1.

By Bicycle

Get here using Santander Cycle Hire. Nearest Docking Stations are available behind the museum on Tavistock Street and a short walk from the Museum on Wellington Street.

There is also a public cycle rack located a few minutes walk from the museum in Russell Street. A comprehensive list of cycle parking locations across Westminster can be found on the Westminster Cycling Campaign website.

By Car

There is a very limited number of parking spaces available near the Museum. These spaces are charged at £4.90 per hour, with a maximum stay of around 4 hours. 

The ParkRight app, developed for the City of Westminster, can provide you with real time parking space occupancy information.

TfL’s off-peak fares mean that your photographic adventures won't put a dent in your budget. Off-peak fares apply on all Tube, DLR, London Overground and TfL Rail services. You can tap into the wonderful world of off-peak every weekday before 6.30am, between 9.30am and 3.59pm, and after 7pm. Off-peak fares also apply all day at weekends and on public holidays.
