Family Whats On

There's something for the whole family at London Transport Museum. We run a range of events - come and enjoy singing and story sessions every week during term time, or explore our collection with special events every school holiday, including creative and crafty activities linked to our exhibitions and collection.

All our family events in the Museum are free with your admission ticket. Kids go free!

Singing and storytime sessions Christmas at the Museum

Dates: 30 November to 5 January
Location: Covent Garden Museum
Tickets: Free with museum admission

Santa will be visiting us all throughout December! Visit him in his secret hideaway, full of twinkling lights and comfy seats, or see if you can track him down in one of the heritage vehicles in the Museum for a super Santa selfie.

You can also take part in family activities including crafts and sing-along sessions:

Winter decoration making

Every day, drop in between 10:30 to 17:30. In Santa's Hideaway on the ground floor.

Create bunting and decorations using London’s iconic roundel, bus and train shapes with a variety of crafty and sparkly materials. Suitable for families with children aged 3 to 12.

Seasonal sing-a-long

Every day, 11:30 and 13:30 (approximately 20 minutes) in Santa's Hideaway on the ground floor.

Join in lively singing and storytelling sessions using a selection of props and instruments. All ages welcome, but most suitable for families with children under 7 years.

This event is most suitable for children aged 8 to 12 years old, but can be attended by all of the family. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are not available for adults without children.

Join us for a special event next February half term at London Transport Museum.

Vicki Pipe and Geoff Marshall, the dynamic duo behind All the Stations, will be welcoming young guests to the museum to discuss their latest books, The London Underground: 50 things to See and Do and Great British Railways: 50 Things to See and Do.

Hear all about Vicki and Geoff’s unusual journeys, discover unique and interactive games to play and sights to see, and embark on intriguing and fact filled journeys that will change the way you see train travel forever.

Copies of Geoff and Vicki’s new books will be available to buy at London Transport Museum and the authors will be signing copies after their talk.

Singing and Stories Singing and Stories

Date: Tuesdays and Fridays during term-time
Times: 11am, 12.15pm and 2.15pm
Duration: 45 minutes per session
Tickets: Free with museum admission

For families with children aged 5 and under. Free with museum admission.

On Friday 15 November, the Singing and Stories sessions for families will be running at 12.15 and 14.15 only and will take place in our Skills Room on level 1, near the Information Desk. This is to accommodate the School Programme’s Early Explorer Morning, for students with additional needs.

Join us to find out how people get around the city. With stories about hopping on a bus to the Museum and songs about catching a tube to London Town, there’s something for everyone. Sessions include singing and dancing, as well as the chance to see and touch objects from the Museum collection.
