Library visiting

Our library is moving

This summer our library will be moving to a new location near St James’s Park Underground station.

Our last visiting days will be Tuesday 3 April 2018 at Acton, and Friday 13 April 2018 at Covent Garden. We expect to be closed to visitors for several months while we complete our relocation. This message will be updated when a date for reopening is confirmed.

The Library at London Transport Museum is open by appointment to anyone interested in finding out more about London's public transport - past, present and future.

Opening times and appointments

There is no charge for admission, but the Library is small and can only accommodate two visitors at a time, so appointments are essential. Please contact us in advance to check availability and discuss the nature of your research with Library staff.

If you contact us by email, please supply at least three dates when you are able to visit. If you are coming from overseas it is essential you contact us well in advance so that a suitable day and time can be arranged, particularly for visits to Acton.

Covent Garden Library

Wednesday 10:00-17:00
Friday 10:00-17:00

The Library is closed at weekends. A phone service is available Monday to Friday.
