Description | This poster is from a set of commemorative lithographs published by the Underground during the First World War.They celebrate the contribution its staff made to the war effort. The central image depicts a signalman at Earl's Court.The searchlights used to pick out Zeppelin airships during bombing raids, fill the borders. This frame of lights draws the viewer's attention to the vital duties being carried out by the signalman, and indeed by all transport workers on the Home Front. |
