Description | Arnrid Banniza Johnston was a prolific artist who carved in marble and wood as well as being a painter. She produced several original artworks that were used on London Transport posters. This poster from 1931 publicised work on the Charing Cross Euston & Hampstead Railway, which later became the Northern line. An extension to Camden had been built in 1924 but further improvements were funded in 1929, including the installation of escalators. Camden Town is one of the closest Underground stations to Regent's Park zoo. |
