The Museum Depot in Acton is our working museum store housing over 320,000 objects. Sights include rare road & rail vehicles spanning over 100 years, bus and rail sheds, signs, ceramic tiles, ephemera and ticket machines. Depot open weekends occur twice a year, typically around March and September.

Join us on 22 and 23 April at our Depot in Acton, where we will be exploring the secrets and hidden spaces of the Underground. Usually closed to the public, we will be opening the doors of the Museum Depot, where you’ll have a rare chance to visit a treasure-house of over 320,000 historical transport and design objects. Visitors can enjoy art and poster tours, listen to fascinating talks including the marvels revealed during the Crossrail excavation, and get involved in family fun. Our jam-packed programme of activities includes miniature railway rides, and object handling. Visitors can also enjoy refreshments from a vintage vehicle pop up food village and shop for unique transport related products.
