Enjoy lazy September days on the Metropolitan Line, travelling in vintage style through lush suburbia on 1950’s ex British Rail 4TC coaches, hauled by Sarah Siddons, one of the few electric locomotives still in service and a Class 20 locomotive.

Passengers can re-live the 1950s as they board the heritage train and take time to enjoy the special atmosphere at Amersham station where costumed characters will bring the era to life.

Visitors can browse a pop-up London Transport Museum shop selling Metropolitan line themed gifts such as the Museum’s latest ‘moquette’ pattern socks inspired by the iconic Tube seating fabric, Underground vintage originals and a range of London Underground gifts and souvenirs.

The London Transport Museum Friends will be on site with their unique collection of transport ephemera for sale.

On Sunday 8 September only, courtesy of the London Transport Museum Friends, customers can also enjoy free heritage rides up to Amersham Old Town where the annual Heritage Day is taking place, on buses including RM2 from the Museum’s collection.
