We are teaming up with Ealing Council to support cultural education for children and young people in the borough through a new Local Cultural Education Partnership.

The partnership will work to increase opportunities for local children and young people to take part and enjoy art, culture and creativity on their doorstep, no matter what their background.

Young people will be at the heart of designing the partnership’s approach, putting them in the driving seat to co-design the local offer in the borough where our Museum Depot is located.

The Depot is our museum store where we care for more than 320,000 objects not on display at the Museum in Covert Garden. On special occasions we open our Depot for the public to enjoy, as well as hosting regular school visits and family activities for local communities.

Fenella Goodhart, Head of Learning at London Transport Museum said: “Everyone should have opportunities to be creative and benefit from the rich art and culture London has to offer so we’re proud to be joining the Ealing Local Cultural Education Partnership. Working together with young people, it will be a chance to open up new opportunities to experience the Museum’s collection and our Depot in Acton Town, and to support young people to recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

As part of the Local Cultural Education Partnership we will work alongside other local organisations including the Young Ealing Foundation, UWL, Gunnersbury Museum, Pitzhanger Manor and Gallery, Ealing Learning Partnership and Ealing Music Education Hub.

The partnership is funded by A New Direction and Challenge London Fund who are supported by Arts Council England.
