Today Arts Council England announced its ongoing support for London Transport Museum as part of its National Portfolio.

Between April 2023 and March 2026, the Arts Council will invest £253,000 each year into our work. This will see us deliver exciting curatorial projects, provide employment opportunities for young Londoners and offer more support for our volunteers.

Sam Mullins OBE, Director of London Transport Museum said:

The Arts Council’s ongoing investment into London Transport Museum is vital. For our museum, it means we can help young Londoners get the skills and experience they need to have successful careers that will shape the future. It supports our contemporary collecting, ensuring we’re preserving the modern-day story of London and its transport for future generations. And it means we can make volunteering at the Museum more accessible to more people. My colleagues and I are hugely grateful for this ongoing commitment to our work and the impact it makes.
