Description | The LTL-type was the single-decked version of the double-decked LT-type. Although LTL was the official name, they became commonly know as LTs. Principally used on suburban routes and where bridge or weight restrictions prohibited double decks, some also appeared in Central London as reliefs on normally double-decked routes. Withdrawn from service at Elmers End in 1950, LT1076 was restored with finance from the Friends of London Transport Museum. It retains its original seating layout, whilst many others were altered in wartime. |
