Description
RT-types were among the first buses to have metal frames and interchangeable parts. Designed before the Second World War, they did not go into mass production until 1947. This bus, RT4712, ran on routes in the Central Area. Its active service ended and it was acquired by the Museum in 1978. It has been maintained in working order. In 2002 it was painted gold for the Queen's Jubilee celebrations and ran on special events.
