Description
When the S-type was introduced it could carry 54 passengers, making it the largest bus running in London. This bus, S742, entered service in 1923 at Tottenham. It was among the last of the S-types to be running, when service ended in 1933. A lower deck advertisement for the Peahen Hotel in St. Albans, is a relic of its last duties on route 84 from Hendon garage. S742 was also one of the last vehicles of this type to be constructed, which can be established by its 'turned under' side panels.
