Description | Moquette is the durable upholstery fabric used on public transport across the world. This sample has a repeat pattern of three squares coloured yellow, purple and green, with light grey 'shadows' on a dark grey background. It was used to refurbish the Circle and Hammersmith & City line C69- and C77-stock in 1990. The colours used reflect the lines that have common sections of the same track: the Circle, Hammersmith & City, District and Metropolitan lines. London Transport commissioned outside consultants Callow and Maddox Brothers Limited to design the moquette and it was manufactured by British Furtex Fabrics Limited. Tube stock refurbishment was carried out throughout the 1990s. |
