Description
Moquette is the durable upholstery fabric used on public transport across the world. This sample has a geometric design of black rhomboids with mauve and orange lines and white highlights on a mauve and orange background. It was used for a series of refurbishments during the early 1990s on the 1956/1959 Tube stock that operated on the Northern line. In the case of the 1959 stock, the colour scheme is similar to that of the original grey and red-striped moquette. It was designed by Tilney, Lumsden and Shane and manufactured by British Furtex Fabrics.
