Hat; as issued to LGOC female bus conductor, 1916-1919

Moulded felt hat of the type issued to LGOC female bus conductors. The original navy blue colouring has faded to brown. Shown here with early 'General' roundel badge. Dark Brown moulded felt hat with light brown cotton trimming on brim (faded from original navy blue with white trim) and cream cotton lining. Left hand side of brim is turned up and pinned to side of hat with a press stud fixing. Remains of threads at front of hat where presumably a cap badge would have been fixed. It would also have originally had a leather chin strap which is missing (although remnants can be seen). Curators comment, Valia Lamprou, Curator, 2015.
