Description | This information sign was at Aldgate station on the Metropolitan line. It advertises for sale Metropolitan line timetables, the Metro-Land guide book and further booklets on walking in Middlesex, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. Metro-Land was the name created by the Metropolitan Railway for the new suburban and country areas surrounding the route of the Metropolitan line. Londoners were encouraged to escape the City and visit Metro-Land for day trips. |
