    How the new station / combines the Fleet, / Northern and / Bakerloo lines / LONDON'S / GROWING / UNDERGROUND / No: 5 / JANUARY / 1977 / THE NEW / CHARING CROSS / STATION / The artist's impression shows the general arrangement of the new Charing / Cross Underground Station, now being built. / The new station complex will combine the former Strand (Northern Line) / Station with the existing Trafalgar Square (Bakerloo Line) Station, adding / a completely new station for the Fleet Line. The whole will provide / three-line interchange with British Rail's Charing Cross terminus, with / pedestrian subways linking the new Underground station with Villier's Street, / Strand (north side) and Duncannon Street. / The work is being financed by the Government and the Greater London / Council.
