Description | London Transport published this poster in 1966. It was designed by Peter Roberson to promote London's countryside and the Country Walks booklet. The view of Regent's Park shows the British Telecom Tower in the distance. The tower was opened as the Post Office Tower the previous year and remained the City's tallest building until 1981. The popular 'Top of the Tower' restaurant opened in 1966.Roberson's image shows London as a city where nature and urban development live in harmony and are within easy reach via London's Transport. |
