Description | This poster, designed by Cyril Kenneth Bird (Fougasse), was published by London Transport during the Second World War. An established code of conduct on the Underground was particularly important at this time to keep passengers safe and services running smoothly. Procedures such as 'Stand on the right of the escalator' were becoming familiar slogans for public information posters. Fougasse always used humour to communicate with the passengers and present everyday instructions and advice in an eye-catching and memorable way. |
