Description | This poster, published by London Transport (L.T.), publicises the modernisation work carried out at Chancery Lane station in 1934. The illustration by Charles W Baker shows a view looking along Holborn towards Holborn Viaduct. A cut-out in the road illustrates the location of the new station below ground. The station is represented by a series of tunnels that house the escalators and platform. The station renovations included a new booking hall and new escalators. Connecting platforms with stairs lead to four new station entrances on Holborn. |
