| Description | District Railway garden competition 1928. The platforms at Ealing Common Underground station, looking west. The judges can be seen midway along the westbound platform, inspecting the adjoining garden, which was awarded a first prize in the competition. A special train, formed of District 1927 K-stock, stands in the platform. This shot also shows the original station buildings and platform canopies, some solid disc station name roundels and lampposts with spiral decoration on the stems. |
