Description | This picture was taken in the early 1970s by Trafalgar Square. The R.M. Routemaster, normally red, has been painted yellow as part of an advertising campaign for the Yellow Pages telephone directory. Buses had displayed advertising throughout the 20th century, but all-over bus advertising was new in the 1970s. This bus, operating on route 11, carried the Yellow Pages livery from April 1971 to April 1973. |
