Description | Air raid damage on the night of 13 October 1940, Bounds Green Underground station, Piccadilly line. The tunnel roof has been breached by a bomb, and the westbound platform is almost filled with rubble; some of the plasterwork on the walls and roof has been dislodged, partially revealing the cast-iron tunnel rings and concrete infill. A station name roundel, and poster can be seen on the platform wall on the left. 19 people were killed in this incident, many of them Belgian refugees. |
