Description | This shot was taken at Epping station to show the new 1992 Tube stock designed for the Central line. Years of underinvestment had left the system in need of care. In the 1980s, London Underground focused on refurbishing its stations. Then, in the 1990s, attention was turned to Tube stock. The introduction of One Person Operation at around this time influenced the design of the new trains. |
