| Description | One of the major refurbishment projects of the late 1980s was the redesign of Angel station. Between 1989 and 1993, the station was transformed into a modern, spacious location. This 1988 photo dates from just before the project began. It shows the narrow central island platform of the original station. This was replaced by separate northbound and southbound platforms. |
