Description | Hammersmith Underground station exterior, District and Piccadilly lines. The station was rebuilt as a joint District and Piccadilly line facility, coming into operation on 15 December 1906. The station was designed by the District railway's architect, Harry W Ford. The building presents a light brown clear-glazed faience facade. Four maxim arc lamps are suspended from the roof on tall wrought iron brackets. View looking east along Hammersmith Broadway. A traffic island with lamppost stands in the mid/ground. |
