| Description | Blackfriars Underground station exterior, District line. The station building was completed in 1873. Architect Frederick J Ward built the four storey building above the station. A vertical UndergrounD sign and map/poster panels have been painted onto the original print, showing the proposed position of UERL company logo devices on the station facade. The UndergrounD signs were introduced in 1908. |
