Description | Rayners Lane station, prior to rebuilding; the photographer is standing on the westbound platform, with the eastbound on the right. Both platforms are of a wooden construction, and have basic corrugated-iron waiting rooms. A Metropolitan Railway diamond-shaped station nameboard, with overhead light, stands next to a large poster panel on the northbound platform. On the opposite platform there is both a diamond-shaped nameboard and a rather unusual roundel nameboard, with the station name in dark letters on a white background. Some work is being carried out on this platform - two men are squatting by the edge |
