Description | Brompton Road Underground Station, Piccadilly line. Exterior view of the station designed by Leslie Green, which opened 1906 and closed 1934. A two storey, five bay plan building with two large arches faced with glazed terracotta mouldings and tiles. A confectionery shop adjoins to the left and the Crystal Shop to the right. Added decorative ironwork canopy over entrance to station with station name and UndergrounD lettering. Various Underground posters and signs on front of station. A few people are seen on pavement. The dome of Brompton Oratory is visible in the background. |
