Description | Air raid damage at Mornington Crescent, Northern line. This view is of the huge crater on the surface caused by a bomb which penetrated the tunnel at this point. A number of rescue workers can be seen among the debris; note that the three men in the right foreground are all looking upwards. The mound of rubble on the edge of the crater, background centre, probably comes from the demolished houses on either side. |
