Perspective cross-sectional view of William Moseley's 'Crystal Way', a suggested Underground railway line from Cheapside to Oxford Circus enclosed by a glass arcade, and powered by atmospheric pressure; submitted to Parliament's Select Committee on Metropolitan Communications in 1855. Line illustration showing platforms on lowest level, with passengers and trains, living space on the next two levels, then street level, with shops and an open concourse, a further level above, and an ornate glazed roof
