Description
Side entrance with glazed canopy, Westminster Station, District line. Charles Holden's first commission for the Underground, including one of the earliest appearances of Edward Johnston's typeface and the Johnston U_D logo. With branches of J Lyons & Co Refreshments on either side of entrance. Pedestrians and man carrying sandwichboard advertising the Evening Standard ("Flood Avalanche True Story") also in view.
