Description | High angled view looking down the island platform at Brent (now Brent Cross) Underground station, on the occasion of the opening of the Golders Green to Hendon section of the Edgware extension of the Northern line. A special train formed of standard-tube stock is drawn up at the right-hand face of the platform. Lord Ashfield, in grey Homberg hat and wing collar, stands beside the train, midground right. Groups of men and women in winter clothes stand on the platform, foreground to background centre. Rows of housing can be seen in the background. A steam lorry is parked on the road between the houses and station, midground right. |
