Description | LT-Type Bus, No LT741, three-quarter front offside view. Reg number: GT5167. Bus seen in 'General' (LGOC) livery. LT741 was an experimental prototype nicknamed 'Bluebird' due to the blue interior and use of a dark blue moquette (instead of the standard dark grey upholstery). In this version the top deck was extended right over the driver's cab. Metal hand rails were used on the seating (which were padded with foam rubber), and a right angled staircase design provided more seating space (60 seats). The display box (shown in photo) was improved prior to the bus entering service. The single indicator box proved unsatisfactory and was combined with a separate route number box in the roof, and an ultimate destination box above the driver's cab. Series : U9872 - U9884 |
