Description | Charing Cross (now Embankment) Underground station, District and Circle lines. Exterior view showing the entrance facing the Embankment, with a large UndergrounD roundel on the facade of the building. Either side of the doorway are poster panels with posters and overhead swan neck light fittings. Steps lead to the entrance doorway; there is no overhead canopy. To the left, the bottom of the staircase leading to Hungerford Bridge can be seen, there is signage for the Bridge, South Bank, Royal Festival Hall and Riverside Walk on the wall. Construction work can be seen in the background of the shot to the right. |
