Description | Hounslow Central Underground station, Piccadilly line. Exterior island platform view looking east. Much of the platform is covered by a wooden canopy with attractive scalloped valance. A glazed wooden waiting room stands midground centre, with a tobacconist's kiosk at the near end, facing the camera. Illuminated direction signs, with Mexican arrows, are suspended from the underside of the canopy. Other features of interest are the clock and the tombstone-style station name roundel. The brick structure in the foreground protects the top of the stairway from the booking hall. |
