Description
Stairwell entrances (foreground left and background right) to Bank station, showing metal railings, signage, and semi-circular supports for lighting at the top of the steps. The photographer is standing in front of the Royal Exchange, with the Bank of England on the right; the building is seen before the redevelopment of the inter-war years. Some men appear to be working on the roadway in front of the Bank. An equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington stands in front of the stairwell in the foreground.
