Description | Metropolitan Railway centenary celebrations.97-year-old Metropolitan Railway steam locomotive no. 23 and two wagons altered to resemble contractor's wagons of 1862 pass the stand at Neasden. Members of London Transport's Musical and Dramatic Society recreate the scene of of 24 May 1862 when Mr. gladstone and other notables were photographed in wagons like these on an inspection trip over the new railway. |
