Description | This is the southern entrance of the Kingsway tramway subway seen under construction alongside the old Waterloo Bridge on 1 April 1908. The modern tunnel is under the new Waterloo Bridge, which was built with a wider span. This subway was an important part of the London County Council (L.C.C.) tram network as it linked its tramways north and south of the Thames. |
