Description
High angle shot of the Strand, looking east towards St Mary-le-Strand church in far distance. Four buses can be seen heading eastwards; the two nearest the camera are on route 11 services to Liverpool Street. Approaching the photographer, midground centre, is RT-type, registration no NLE947 (RT4283), on route 77 to Tooting; behind is another RT on route 1. Amongst the other traffic is a Royal Navy lorry travelling westwards and approaching the zebra crossing. The pavements are busy with pedestrians.
