Description
Cut and cover construction at Praed Street, Paddington, during the building of the Metropolitan Railway's Kensington extension. A steam crane or 'steam navvy', with vertical boiler, complex gearing and crude shelter, stands midground left. The workmen seem to have stopped work to pose for the camera.
