Description | Construction work on the Metropolitan Railway near the site of Notting Hill Gate station. This view shows an open cutting, with retaining walls already completed. Two lines of rails have been laid in the cutting, one of which is occupied by a train of empty wagons. A vast amount of debris can be seen in the cutting. A small crane stands at the top of the retaining wall on the left. |
