Attribute Value Biography Born in 1900 Margaret Barnard was a painter who first exhibited in Glasgow in 1922. She studied at Glasgow Art School and then under Claude Flight at the Grosvenor School of Modern Art, she worked mainly in linocut. She moved to London and exhibited twice at the Royal Academy, and some other venues until 1939. In 1994 a memorial show was held at Rye Art Gallery.
She married the artist Robert Mackehnie and lived for a while in Italy. She painted Italian landscapes and the Scottish Coast. Her lino-cuts were typical of the 1920s.
