Attribute Value Biography This is believed to be Will Owen who was born in Malta and studied at Lambeth School of Art.
Will Owen was an English humorous black-and-white illustrator and poster artist. He illustrated a number of books by the popular novelist W W Jacobs, as well as his own titles Alleged Humour, 1917, Old London Town, 1921, and What's the Dope?, 1944. Simultaneously, Owen also designed some posters for the Underground Group in 1926, among which, The Derby June 2nd shows his bold technique in black-and-white style.He also produced book and magazine illustrations, contributing to Punch, The Bystander and The Strand Magazine amongst others.
