Biography
Attribute Value Biography John Platt studied at the Royal College of Art and taught at a number of colleges.
He exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy from 1913. He was particularly known for colour woodcuts, with 'The Giant Stride' of 1918 being awarded a gold medal at the International Exhibition organised by the Society of California Printmakers in 1922.
During the Second World War he was an official war artist with the Ministry of Transport. His animal prints became increasingly stylized and geometric.
