    Biography
Percy Hutton Fearon was a British cartoonist, born in Shanghai of English parents. He then moved to New York with his father where his friends pronounced his first name "Poycee", which he later shortened to "Poy". He moved to London and made his first appearance in Judy, and he was later recruited by that magazine in 1897. Fearon was commissioned by the Manchester Evening Chronicle and later Sunday Chronicle and Daily Despatch. He worked for the London Evening News from 1913 to 1935 and for the Daily Mail until his retirement in 1938. His most famous creation was probably John Citizen. He produced posters for the Underground Group featuring his humorous cartoons.
