    Edward Lancaster was a painter in watercolour, oils, gouache and tempera.

    Born in Southport, he studied at Southport, Liverpool and Chelsea Schools of Art and became a painter and mural artist and was commissioned by London Transport to design posters, included Greet the Sun, 1939, Christmas Greetings, 1947 and See London by Coach, 1948 He exhibited at several galleries in Britain and abroad. He lived in London and Bognor Regis, Sussex.
