    Born in India, Lynton Lamb studied at the Central School under Hartrick, Rooke and Meninsky.

    He was a designer, illustrator, wood engraver as well as a painter. During the 1930s he taught bookbinding. In 1974 he was appointed a Royal designer for Industry. He designed two panel posters for London Transport.

    From 1950 to 1971 he taught at the Slade School and at the Royal College of Art.
