    Verney Danvers was a poster artist who ran a school of commercial art. He had commissions from fashion and interior design companies. He designed a number of posters for LCCC Trams, Shell, the LNER, the Southern Railway, British Railways and also for the fashion house Bobby & Co Ltd. It is has been suggested that Danvers studied at Hornsey College of Art in 1911. Danvers settled in Canada and signed up for war service in the Royal Canadian Garrison Artillery as a clerk. In later years he moved to London and set up the Court School of Commercial Art.
